CHEDDAR BRIDGE MEET SEPTEMBER 30TH – OCTOBER 7TH 2020
I have been in touch with the site, and all is looking good for our meet there. The site has been open since July and they have got into a safe routine looking after their customers.
On arrival please have your full site fees along with your name in a sealed envelope, you need to place this in the letterbox that can only be opened with a key. Tracy is requesting that you pay cash where possible, she will be able to accept cheques. There is NO facility for card payments this time.
The cost is £15 per unit night, 7nights x 15 = £ 105. Less £30 if you previously paid a deposit.
Those I am aware paid a deposit are D. Price, F.Smith, M, Wiliamson , A. Fisher, G. Heppel, C. Brooks, P. Workman and J. Hughes.
You can then drive onto the site and choose which pitch you would like that is available. For those who have not been to Cheddar before, the road goes round in a circle with pitches off either side of the road. All pitches have a number.
If you have paid a deposit for the May meet that was cancelled and are not on the above list, please phone the site on 01934 743048 to advise them.
The shower block will be open from 7.00am in the morning for 4 hours which are broken down into 2-hour slots, even pitch numbers on one slot and uneven pitch numbers on the other. It is requested that we use our own facilities if we have them or to wait outside if the facilities are already in use. Bit like supermarkets, one out another one in. There will be hand sanitiser and a cloth in the shower block for you to wipe down handles etc before and after. Personally, I would recommend that you take your own to the shower and toilet block, as well as to water taps and elsan point. The toilet blocks will be open at other times when cleaning is not taking place. Please do not stand inside the facilities waiting for someone to finish using them.
There are only 35 pitches in use at Cheddar Bridge whilst we are there, and we have 20 of them, so it should be easy for us to stay 2 meters away from anyone else using the facilities.
Weather permitting, I am hoping to get all Phoenix members together, socially distanced for a short get together in the tent field on Wednesday, the day we arrive. Please come along at 5.00pm with your chairs, this will give us all the opportunity to meet, although 2meters away from other Phoenix members on this meet. Unless it is tipping it down, we will still hold this meeting with using our umbrellas.
The other reason for us all getting together at this time, is I am hoping that there are two other members who will join me and have groups of 6 together in the mornings for a Phoenix coffee morning out side their units. What members are proposing to do that day can be discussed and the information passed between the three hosts, who in turn will advise the members in their ‘bubble’.
I should also have details of bus times, possible trips out along with what there is to do in the local area.
We will also be holding a Macmillan Coffee morning on Monday 6th October at 10.00am for Phoenix members and any campers on the site. This will also be socially distanced and held in the tent field where there is room to space out. More details on this to follow.
I will be in static number 2, should you need to contact me, please make sure you are wearing a mask if you come to the unit.
Looking forward to seeing you there, have a safe journey.
P.S. sod's law, sort thing out and thing change, so some of the above may not be applicable due to government changes in rules due to rise in coronavirus,I will try to keep you all posted.
